When The Rug Stands Up 2

“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭58:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What happens when the rug stands up?

In the post, The Day the Rug Stood Up, I expressed that—

WE ARE NOT A RUG. A RUG IS A THING, NOT A PERSON.

I had to ask myself the question, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE RUG STANDS UP?

A totally different picture of a bully registered with me—the adversary of our soul. The one we sometimes picture with horns and pitchfork. 😈

I thought about all the chaos – the trouble, anxiety, worry, turmoil, health issues in my family, lack of rest and sleep, back-to-back tribulation and suffering that had been unleashed on my family. (This post was started before the Corona virus took over)

I admit when someone is right smack-dab in the heat of the spiritual battle, they are tempted to lie down and give up the Ghost! At the very least, they are weary from the fight. Because of the continual carrying of the load, it would be easy for discouragement to set in and to feel like all hope of ever seeing the light of day was lost, so far, far away.

Darkness has a way of doing that—trying its best to snuff out the candle of the Light that abides within our heart.

WE CAN LOSE SIGHT OF HIS VISION IF WE AREN’T CAREFUL.

Biblical fasting isn’t something I enjoy doing! My flesh don’t like it, at all! But I felt it in my spirit that it was dire time.

The weeks appeared to slip right by because of those extreme “disturbances,” going on in my life, as my friend, Debbie, put it in one of her posts, Disturbances That Rock…..Our Core

This post was so powerful that it brought me to tears! There are so many going through so many levels of torment right now!

WE NEED TO GET MAD!

HOT MAD!!! 😡😡😡

at that bully!!!! I’m not talking about the pouting and not speaking kind of mad. I’m talking about a good old-fashioned tantrum many of our children have thrown when they were younger, kind of mad!!!

The kind where something just boils right up inside of you—A RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION!

The kind where you kick, stomp, fall in the floor a while, scream, throw things…..

I’m talking about throwing the Word at our enemy! Our weapons are not carnal! We shall live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God!

Stomp him a while!

The enemy is under our feet!

Some days, I barely make it fasting to noon, others, I make it all the way to dinner. As long as sacrifice is involved, safely, I might add, it’s honored by God. (I have to add here that I have not stopped doing this since the corona chaos)

“And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“It is our very own worry, that keeps us from breakthrough”—Debra Hearn Jones

No truer words have ever been spoken!

While singing in the choir three Sunday nights ago, an impression came to me. You know the kind. The kind you know is going to require a lot of guts and COURAGE to step out and obey. I fought with the thought until I almost let the moment pass me by. But then, the verse was miraculously sung again.

A second chance! So I seized the moment! As soon as I leaned over shaking in my own weakness—which was puny, I tell you—that righteous indignation began to rise right up inside me! And a strength came over me! I grabbed the Kleenex and waved it like a banner, as I stepped down the steps from the platform and walked back and forth in front of the altar. Unleashing some HALLELUJAHS and THANK YOU JESUSES, I worshipped out right and did not care what a single other soul thought of me! The choir continued to sing Defend Us by Jessica Di Giovanni:

When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the Lord will “lift up a standard”
His death has made us triumph over evil
The chains of sin are broken,
The veil is torn
The remedy provided of deliverance
A gracious revelation
In Jesus Christ

Defend us Lord, defend us Lord

Lift up a standard, raise up the banner high.

No weapon formed against me,

No weapon formed against me No weapon of the enemy, shall prosper!

THE RUG MUST STAND UP!!!

By the time I had gotten back home and before the night was through, my husband had sweated out a fever of 101 and was doing better by the next morning! No, it wasn’t the corona, thank the Lord, but a bad bladder infection and his PSA levels were high. He was a very sick man! He told me he had really felt he was at death’s door—and I confess, he looked it, too! But that was saying something for him to say that!

The medical doctor referred him to an urologist who tested to make sure it wasn’t cancer. We have another appointment a week from now to see where to go from here—I know we have to trust God, no matter what!

If you have God’s Spirit dwelling inside your heart, He will lift up a standard against your enemy. Nothing will be impossible to those who believe!

In the words of Emma E. Edmonds, a female soldier who fought in the Civil War,

“It was not my intention, or desire, to seek my own personal ease and comfort while so much sorrow and distress filled the land.”

Since I have written this, (as I have made mention already) our world has erupted into something I have never seen in my lifetime. Could this be what we have all been battling in the Spirit? There seemed to be a feeling of unrest that one could not put a finger on.

I am so THANKFUL that I didn’t quench the Spirit that night! It makes me want to cry, to realize just how close I came to not obeying God because of fear—fearing what others would think of me! Giving way to my own insecurities! What if I had not stepped out in boldness?

I will say this much—if I am never given another opportunity to attend church ever again, THERE IS VICTORY IN MY SOUL!

So NO!!! I will NOT be a rug for you to walk on devil!!! I will fight for my family, and I WILL SEE my family come to God! 👁💥 👊🏼

No matter what the future holds, I know my God holds my future! He will see us all through!

This “supposed” rug is still standing up!

And I would say that you need to do the same! Pray like you have never prayed before— for the salvation of your families, for their health and for a hedge of protection in such a time as this!

Stay strong! FEAR NOT! TRUST GOD! I believe we will make it through all this!

Much prayers!

    • Stacey, this just humbles me to know this helped you, too! To know that two can agree as touching one thing—rising up in agreement, against the enemy of our soul! There is power in that!

When I think of where God has brought me from, I can’t help but shout hallelujah! 🙌🏼 Besides that, we are showing that bully whose side we’re on!!! 💃🏼

If you get a chance, check Stu’s post out, as well as Debbie’s. They both go right along with this! I had already felt this in my soul, when I read Debbie’s and then Stu’s! Wow!
