Big Shoulders

A heart from Viv

With so much going on in our lives right now, we have to know that we know, God is our help in the middle of all the chaos.

He’s lifting us up on His shoulders when we feel we cannot walk another mile or go through another thing.

Our help comes from the One who made heaven and earth.

I’m so glad He has big shoulders.

I’m needing Him to carry an awful lot of things for me tonight.

Stu‘s heart from work.

Just found out my oldest sister is at ER very sick. Had gotten a message just before that from my daughter’s friend, saying she had her son at ER because he had poked a small hole in his eye near the tear duct.

Two of my friends have a parent in the hospital right now. Both are in need of lots of prayer. One is in ICU in critical condition, pneumonia from covid.

Our youth pastor and wife’s oldest daughter has been in ICU with bilateral pneumonia since Monday. She is a bad diabetic. She tested negative for covid. Which is very strange. We almost lost her Monday! She was unresponsive, on a ventilator, but was finally taken off. The doctors are saying she is a miracle at this point!

My hubby, myself, one of my friends, (the one whose mom is in ICU) her son, daughter in law, and 4 grandchildren all have been down sick with covid for 17 days now.

I had just found out my oldest daughter, in another state, had it. We weren’t around them any.

We are still under quarantine. My hubby found out six days later he was positive, so that added more days to my initial quarantine date.

In case there are some out there wondering if this stuff is real, I can attest, it is very much real. This is the sickest I have ever been. I’ve had other illnesses before through the years: bronchitis, flu, strep, vertigo, but this was the granddaddy of all sicknesses.

The fatigue was worse than anything I have ever been through. And the hallucinations! I had those two days without running any fever! 😱

I had one critical day where nothing but prayer brought me through. And that night also, I honestly thought my time clock had been punched. I had made up my mind, if my hubby’s fever did not break, I was calling the ambulance to come get us both. I was having trouble breathing.

I am being very real here. I got desperate. I got my anointing oil, anointed us and prayed. His fever broke soon afterwards, and I was able to finally fall asleep, knowing he was alright. I am so grateful God hears our prayers no matter how weak or how strong. I am thankful to still be here.

Yep this stuff is straight from hell! And I am not exaggerating in the least bit.

My hubby and I are much better. Him more so than me. I’m still dealing with chest and head congestion. I’m still trying to get my strength back.

So when you pray, please pray us and for my small town. Our hospitals are slammed and understaffed, with no room, as well as other hospitals all across the south.

I pray my sister doesn’t have it also. I myself haven’t been around her, so thank goodness for that. My baby brother is also under the weather. Praying he doesn’t have it either!

Tonight our church gathered for worship and then had a prayer meeting, instead of preaching.

Afterwards, our church met up in the hospital parking lot to pray for all the doctors, nurses, staff and patients in the hospital.

Little did I know my niece had just pulled up in the parking lot to check on my sister who was already in the ER, while my church was praying! Talk about perfect timing! I knew my daughter’s friend was still there with her son, but had no idea at that moment about my sister.

Of course I was at home during all this. Which hurt my heart, because prayer is where my heart is. I was praying with them in spirit at home though.

Anyways, this song was on my heart tonight. Hope you enjoy.

    • Oh my goodness!!! Dee!!!!! How have you been? So good to hear from you! Yes, I totally agree, God is always mighty in battle! He will always get the victory! NO MATTER WHAT! Girl, no matter what happens at the end of this war, we will all be winners. I said I would be a winner either way, whether the good Lord let me live or if my time had been up on this earth. If we have Christ we have it all!

    • Yes, Stu! I have never seen anything like this hit our town so hard before. I don’t know for sure, I wasn’t given that info, but it sounds like the delta variant. I saw this morning, the numbers are rising in our state. 😢 Thank you so much for the well wishes and prayers. I definitely think it would help if more churches would pray at the hospitals and medical centers. These doctors are going 7 days a week here. I’m sure in other places also. Our hospital here was trying to move Bailey (the young lady from our church) to another hospital, but there were no openings anywhere near! So that tells you how serious this has gotten. But we know there is hope! God is still on the throne!

      • It sounds like the delta strain for sure. This one is easier to catch, hard on ya for the first day or two and then most are back to normal on day 3.

But numbers are rising everywhere. We’ve had 15 get it at work. Everyone will be back to work Monday but this week has been tough being so short handed.

I’ll remain quite on my thoughts about it here as to not ruffle feathers. I’ll do that on my blog later…lol

      • Yes it is easier to catch than the other. Please stay safe out there on the job! Yes, take d3 and zinc. I hear ya. Feathers are ruffling everywhere lol. Just stay safe! 🙏🏼

    • My friend, you know I appreciate and believe in your prayers oh so much! Expecting more miracles! Bailey has opened her eyes and was asking for her parents this morning at 7 am. She didn’t know where she was or why she was there. They are waiting for some more numbers to get just right before she can be released. Love ya!💜🙌🏼🤗

      • Whoo! That made me run some myself! Praising God for all the blessings this morning! My sister tested negative for covid! Bailey is still running fever with the pneumonia, but they are looking to get her out of ICU and into a room with a window soon, so everyone can visit outside her window. Tomorrow is her birthday. 🙌🏼
My friend’s mom is still no better in ICU. She’s not communicating, just moans.
The oxygen levels are ok as long as she is on bipap, but her kidney function is very low. Continue to pray.

      • Oh no, Vanessa! I am so sorry to hear this! 😭 I will be praying for you and your family sweet girl! 🙏🏼My doctor prescribed d3 1000 mg, zinc 50 mg, both of which I was already taking. Vitamin C is good, but I can’t take.
I am going to try to buy a nebulizer tomorrow online. Amazon, Walmart and all medical supply places have them. Y’all might want to go ahead and get one at the beginning. It will help you be able to breathe better. Trust me, this is important. Some are getting pneumonia from this mess. The doctor will have to prescribe the meds that go in it.
Mucinex dm. Drink way more liquids than you normally do. Powerade or anything with electrolytes is good.
Please keep in touch and let me know how y’all are. Love you and will be praying hard for you my friend!💯🙏🏼💜🕊🏔

  3. Renee, keeping everyone in prayer. May the Lord cover all of you with His almighty hand. At the same time, may He reach out to others who at risk and guide them to make healthy choices. We all need to step up.
