Thanking God For Meeting Every Need

“…fear was on every side:…But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand:…Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies’ sake.

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31:13-16, 19, 24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Have you ever thanked God for something as small and trivial as toilet paper?

I wasn’t worried, honestly. I was raised in the backwoods in the south. You know what they say, a country boy (girl) can survive! 😂

As I got back into my vehicle heading home, I reflected on the conversation I had with the cashier, those who were in the store, and in line at the local Dollar General. I don’t take things lightly though. I can recognize a blessing when I see one.

A random man and his son came up to me and we were looking at the empty shelves together, where the toilet paper should have been. I told him I wasn’t trying to horde up any, but was running low. He went around the corner and then came back with 3 cheap packs in his hands. He had gotten some, as well….The last packs in the store….Coincidence? I think not.

God knows our every need. He knew I was going to be needing that stuff really soon! And I will say that I have NEVER done without my needs. A lot of WANTS maybe, but never my needs.

The conversation with the cashier started with her talking about being tired and ended up on the pandemic of “THE virus.” Go figure…I quoted a little of that scripture above.

And I truly believe that! If it’s meant for me to pass from this life, I will not go out in fear. I’m packed up and ready to go!

For those out there that may not be. I would say this much, God loves you and He wants you to spend eternity with Him some day—WHEN it’s your time. He knows your needs. He’s just a prayer away, my friend.

FEAR IS NOT OF GOD.

So, be of good courage! He has overcome the world! Your times are in His hand!

  1. Wonderful reflection Renee. Not afraid bags are packed and ready to go. Leaving on a jet plane. Literally this time. But when it’s my time to go I know where I’m going, I know who I’m gonna get to see,and I know that I am ready, so ready. Have a marvelous day and I’m glad you got your TP.

    • What a true scripture John! Fear where there is no fear! I know we’re supposed to be sensible, but the flu has killed more people than this virus! It’s very sad to see the things that I’m seeing even in my hometown. I just had to wait in line about 30 minutes just to get gas to make it to my husband’s appointment that’s an hour away. Thank God I did it ahead of time!

  3. Renee, this run on toilet paper, paper towels, etc. is also happening here in Canada.
I live in a city of about 30,000. Our Walmart for two days in a row now have sold out on these products.
I am not in a panic about all of this. I know God is my provider, keeper. So, I just rest in Him!

    • I hate it’s happening there, too! I was just informed today that there wasn’t any meat on the shelves, toilet paper or canned foods in our local grocery store. I don’t know about the Walmart here… I am not panicking either. It just took me 30 minutes to gas my car up to get to an appointment. 🤦‍♀️ If God feeds the sparrows, He will surely feed me! This is where trust in God kicks in. If we say we trust Him, then we will act like it! I’m so glad that you are trusting, as well! Prayers for those who are struggling with panic. They are human. No judgement here. We will strengthen each other. Have a great God-blessed day!

  4. “FEAR IS NOT OF GOD.” Indeed, my sister. God is still in control, and our days are already written!

P.S. God says come as you are, empty handed, and leave the baggage behind! 😉😊 God bless! 🙏🏽

  5. Same here! On all accounts 😉 I have never seen the righteous forsaken, praise His Holy Name! And you know what I’m doing tomorrow? I’m going to Walmart! No, I don’t need toilet paper or anything. I just want to see if anyone wants to talk about Jesus or maybe pray ❤ Thank you for sharing this awesome reflection. We sure need a little more GOOD in the world, and this helps!

  6. Yes!!! And if today is the day—I’ve been blessed because of YOU!! Isn’t it odd that what it all comes down to is with what we wipe our butts? 🙃😂. Thank God for humor. Long-distant hugs and love with wings to you sweet tea friend.💓

  7. Renee, I appreciate your discussion and witness to your faith. We need to be faithful toward our Lord’s Word, and use His hope to quell the fear we sometimes fear. (I received a tip from the gal who cuts my hair . . . toilet paper found.)

    • It’s the least we can do to keep each other strong! And hide the Word of God in our hearts. I’m so glad you were able to find that precious commodity! 🙌🏼 Cudos to the lady who cuts your hair!
