Bridge Over Troubled Water (Christian Version)
Here’s a Christian version of the Simon and Garfunkel song, Bridge Over Troubled Water I had in my drafts folder. Thanks Stu, for sharing a recent art tribute on social media of a herd of sheep forming into a heart) It was beautiful.💜
I guess it’s as good a time as any to share this song from my little corner of the South and for those who recently got pelted by Hurricane Ida.

We’ve had tornado watches and warnings since yesterday. Rain and wind, more so in southern Louisiana.
Last night around 8 pm, feeder bands developed and was looking suspicious for developing tornadoes. The sirens went off in town, right before they canceled the tornado warning! Gave people quite the scare!

Then this morning we were awakened at 3:40 am by the Emergency National Weather Service warning going off on my phone. A tornado warning was in effect until 4:30 am.
So I got up out of bed and prayed a while until I felt peace and went back to bed.
Thats about as bad as the winds and rain got for us here, except sometime after 7 am this morning when I woke up.

Nowhere near as bad as Hurricane Katrina was on its anniversary yesterday, right here in our home town.
As of now, my youngest daughter doesn’t have power in her apartment, but they are staying in a hotel at the moment. My oldest daughter doesn’t have power either. Both are safe, as well as my grandkids. 🙌🏼
This was a category 4 before it hit land near New Orleans. It has since downgraded to a tropical storm here! 🙌🏼

We need to keep Louisiana in our prayers, concerning the flash flooding and power outages. New Orleans. Mandeville. Lafitte. Lake Charles. Lake Pontchartrain. And others. 15 inches of rain in some areas!😳😱
The whole city of New Orleans is without power and almost half the state of Louisiana right now. At least one person has lost their life. So sad! And most the hospitals over there are still feeling the strain from the recent covid cases and death tolls.
I pray God comforts their hearts during this time, gives them peace and hope in the midst of it all.
“For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; Yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: Because thou shalt forget thy misery, And remember it as waters that pass away:
And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; Thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; Yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.”
Job 11:15-18

You are very welcome. That was pretty awesome to watch. And the song…yeah😊
We just had some wind and rain all day. Nothing major in our area with Ida. Tomorrow is supposed to back to normal…hot.
Felt good today without the sun pelting on us. “Playing” in the rain all day was not too bad nor was as fun as last year’s hurricane weather. It wasn’t a downpour like last year.

I agree! Loved it! There was another Christian version by Stephen Stanley that wasn’t too bad either. This one just resonated with me today. I’m so glad y’all didn’t get the flooding where you live. It’s back to raining here again. Playing in the rain wouldn’t be too bad without debris flying all around your head 😆 …Maybe you could even sing in the rain a little, too, while you were at it! 😆 Back hot tomorrow?! 😱🥵

Hi Renee, I have always been a huge fan of “Bridge over troubled water” since I was in junior high and a gym instructor played it for us. I love this Christian Version and the slideshow. And, yes a poignant and beautiful song for all the challenges right now. All of your photos are beautiful. I extra love the one of your grandsons. Infinite hugs in your direction.💕

Yes it’s a really great classic. It completely speaks to the soul through any tough season. Thanks a million! I think my favorite will always be ones of my grandchildren. And virtual hugs to you! 💜🤗 Which spelling of your name do you prefer, by the way?Erica or Erika?

Thank you for asking, Renee! I thought my name was always “Erica” and this is the one I use, except for passports and formal documents – When I began the blog I did not know which name to use – therefore I used both names thinking it was easy to change – 3 years later I still have both names on the blog xoxo Erica🙂

Wow! Sounds similar to my situation! I was always called Renee at home (middle name) and when I started school, teachers called me by first name and then my classmates. (Angela -nicknamed Angie) After school, I was back to Renee again with a few classmates on social media who still call me by Angie. Yes, totally confusing! But at least tours are the same name, just different spellings. 😁

Interesting about your names, Renee/Angie. 🙂It can cause issues with passports and other important papers. I wrote a post about my name (added it into my ‘about’ page) many fascinating comments were added about people and their names. You are right, how Erica and Erika sound the same. 🙂

Yes I totally agree for us it was answered prayers! And my daughters. Angel still without power but no damage there. Yes, continue to pray for the whole bottom coast. So sad about all the flooding! 😢
Yes I found that old pic in my Google photos! Easton was hidden more underneath the bridge to the right. They were having a time that day! Thanks! Love you MORE!💜💯

Thank you. If anyone would know how to make it through a storm of sorts, it would sure enough be Job. 🙌🏼
