A Date in a Very, Very Shady Place

😳😆 😉 Well, it’s not a lie, I promise. Let me do some ‘splaining, as my grandbaby would say….

In one of my last posts, I shared going to the park to read every day after work as a desperate measure for some “me-time.” Burn-out and exhaustion got my immune system down and sadly, I caught the ‘vid again.

The good news is I have finally recovered, but not after causing a killer bout of vertigo. 🤦‍♀️

So, here I am, parked in a shady place — a very shady place.

On a date with myself. 😂 And my latest book. The one I’ve been dying to read for a long time.

Oh, and one more thing! I started back going to the public library again!!! I cannot tell you what that has done for my well-being! One of my favorite past-times ever! When my girls were growing up, it was one of our favorite places to go, along with church.

So there you are, what I’ve been up to for a while. An exciting life, I know… 🥸😎 Maybe not an exciting life of espionage, 🕵️‍♀️🕵🏻‍♂️ 🗝🔎 but it will have to do.

Wouldn’t that be cool? Renee the Spy. 😂 🤣 Has a nice ring to it, don’t ya think?

In some ways it’s true. I have been quietly observing the squirrels running around the park. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve seen some really “shady” going ons there.

One day a squirrel scrambled up to my car, eating a pretzel, and the next day one was dumpster diving for French fries! These southern squirrels around here really love their fast food! 🤪

    I just got over covid for the 3rd time….🤦‍♀️ I’m ready to go back to work! I did have time to post while I was off sick though, so there is a plus.😂

  4. I spy, with my little eyes, a heart needing to be read, cover to cover. For who, can truly know the mysteries of a heart, from the outside? Every chapter, reveals the character, and the soul. My sister, we can all have squirrel moments, in shady places.😉 But in those moments, God speaks to our heart. Even in our me time, His love feeds our soul, with food for thought. And leaves the heart, with a story to tell! Stay blessed!

    Father, I thank you that Renee, can rest her heart in you. I pray for peace, strength, and protection. Though, ‘vid seeks to destroy, your love is her healing. Cover her, and her family. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

    • I have been known to be late a time or two getting those books back on time. 😆 One reason I stopped going was the strict policies the last librarian created while there. I’ve always been able to renew an item over the phone, even if it was a day late. She changed that. If you were late, you had to drive to the library and renew. That was back with very high gas prices. It turned me off to the the library, sadly, and I stopped going. I bought a few books here and there and people have loaned me some. We now have an awesome librarian. I really like her! 💜

    • Now that picture I just got in my head of the pic you posted that time…of the guy surrounded by squirrels…Wasn’t he feeding them? Must have been cheese puffs 😉😂

        And my mom would try to feed this one squirrel in our backyard peanuts. The squirrel never came close. So mom would throw them in the yard.

        But…a cheese puff…the squirrel came onto the patio. Next day it was taking them from mom’s hand. The next week it was laying by my mom’s chair waiting for her to come outside.

        She eventually brought her babies as well🥰

    • Awe, thanks my friend! Mine will fit right over my glasses, which is so awesome! I had a video even cuter than that. The squirrel is flicking its tail. I may post it soon also.
      I totally understand! It’s happening to me, too. Makes me so sad missing posts like that. I had one person think I unfollowed them on purpose. I don’t do that.
      I had covid at the end of July last year also. I’m so glad we both got over it.

  10. One of my favorite things to do is drive through a fast food, then drive to a shady place or a sunny one here in northern mn and leave my heater on and grab a book while I grab french fries. Never fails, I usually see others doing the same thing parked near me. Looks like you did some decoration on your blog. blessings

    • I love french fries! I usually have a snack while I’m reading. I may just go through a drive-thru uptown and get some next time.
      Same here. I’ve noticed several do the same here. Just sit in their car reading and eating.
      Yes, I redid my main pic on here. That one really resignated with me. The antique camera reminds me of my childhood days. Hope MN is treating you well, my sweet friend. Blessings to you! 💜🤗
