I woke up with this song on my mind, so you know me, I listened to it again. I had shared it with someone the other day, but shared it with someone else this morning. I realized that the truth must be told.

None of us have it together. We all have our own battles to fight, our crosses to bear, secrets we don’t want anyone knowing. Past sins we are ashamed of. Pain in our bodies or minds we may feel every single day.

We are not Perfect

But we have a perfect God who knows just what we are going through. And it’s ok to not be fine. There are a lot of days we are not fine. If we continue living in this imperfect world, we won’t always be fine. We will feel human emotions like anger, hurt, grief, betrayal, shame, brokenness in body and mind.

I’ve learned with myself when things are not fine, if I just steal away and pray, cry it out, leave it at the feet of Jesus, He fills me with His peace and joy in the middle of whatever I’m suffering with. Things may still be out of whack, but my spirit will be fine.

This year was a year for the records for us all. I’ve been working on a post about it. Maybe I will get it finished before the New Year.

So let the truth be told.

Ok…so I felt you needed to see me on a day when things were not fine. I was fine in my spirit, but the circumstances around me were not. I had long turned the generator off to run the household appliances in our home, to keep the fridge up….and my phone didn’t have enough time to charge. It was dead…This was after Hurricane Zeta wiped the electricity out in our area for almost 2 weeks here.

I got in my car to charge my phone…and that song came on the radio, in this video Jericho Walls by Andrew Ripp. Directly after it, Truth Be Told Came on. I took the video. It’s a reminder to myself that things can “not be fine” but we can keep our joy and just hang in there till this too passes. Hey I’m a hot mess here. I just sat and listened to music and prayed while the phone was charging. Hope you get a chuckle out of how silly I look….But the truth was told! 😂

  3. Truth be told, you posted another awesome post, I actually been wondering if we told our own truths, quit social media, went back to phone calls, if somethings would be different. I am a hot mess too, things are not fine, I’m consumed with fears , worries and this worlds problems. Many distractions at play. I’m sad, feeling beat up, tired, yet Jesus gives me hope!

    • Thank you, Debbie, and thank you for being real. I think some social medias destroy peace in relationships at times. Some will say hurtful things on there they would never be brave enough to say in person. So sad!

    You know, if we keep our smile, in the midst of what we are going through, the enemy can’t take the joy of the Lord that lives deep inside us! We just tie a knot in the rope and keep hanging on! I’m so glad that was back in August and in the past! Hurricanes are no fun!
