To think, I almost missed an opportunity of a lifetime…one I will never forget! The shock of my life!
I’m a breakfast hostess at my new job at a big hotel in our town. I’m really loving it! I’ve been meeting lots of special and unique people passing through. I will tell more about that in a later post. But today I have to mention I met Gerald Crabb y’all!

For anyone who loves the Crabb Family, that is their dad. One of my absolute favorites is “Sometimes It Takes a Mountain.” That song has brought me through some really hard valleys.
Isn’t it amazing how God can use someone’s talent to bring Him glory?
That’s exactly what He has done with this family. Their music is so inspirational. The lyrics will minister down deep in your soul. I regret I didn’t think to ask for a pic with him or tell him how much his music has meant to me. He was actually about to leave the dining room when I had just left the kitchen to stock up more condiments.
He walked up to me and told me I looked like a Christian lady. I told him I was. He asked if I liked to listen to the Crabb Family. I replied, “Do I ever?!!!” He said they were his children. I was blown away!

He told me he wrote all their songs. I told him I was honored to meet him. I had no idea he was in town preaching a revival for a local church.

If you have never heard of this group, here’s a song that Will minister to your heart. Take a moment to listen. It will bless you.
Sometimes It Takes a Mountain by Gaither Vocal Band/Jason Crabb
You know, it got me thinking that sometimes it takes very big things like a rock up side the head in this life to get our attention. We are so stuck in our own situations, grief, anguish, unhappiness, turmoil, we often times cannot see the forest for the trees.
It’s in the fiery trial where God gets our attention. Renews our spirit. Makes us whole again.
May we all find Him in the mountains AND the valleys. It’s in the valley where we grow closer to Him and grow stronger. And learn our hardest lessons.
His love is so much stronger than whatever troubles me. Sometimes it takes a mountain, to trust Him and believe.

“It’s in the fiery trial where God gets our attention. Renews our spirit. Makes us whole again.” Just had some preaching Sunday night about brokenness before God.

Thanks, Debbie! Where would we be without mountains to encourage us. Walking through valleys all the time would leave us with little hope. I love you 💯💜!

While that bowling ball might hurt a spell, God understands how to reach us in getting our undivided attention. Praying for others to accept the Lord’s honest approach.

Hi Renee – I love when we meet Christian “heroes” – kind of my term for it
I do not know the Crabb music Off hand – will look it up – but do love me some Toby Mac!
And I noticed the Toby Mac song on your early a.m. radio photo
The promised land song is a little sad but has some nice truth layered in there!
Toby mac’s elements album was my album of the year a little while ago –

Now I like that term, Christian heroes! It’s perfect! 💕😉
The Crabb family is Southern gospel. Christian Contemporary is more my speed in music, but I do have a few favorite gospel groups-The Martins, Jeff and Sherri Easter, The Isaac’s, the Mc Raes, etc.
That song by Toby Mac is powerful! It really blessed me that particular morning!
