The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.

Captivity is turned–double for the trouble–when we intercede for our friends. There is no greater love than this, to lay down your life for your friends.

Selflessly and consciously laying our own desires or needs aside and grabbing hold of a sister’s hand and praying for her financial blessing, not our own.

Silently whispering a prayer for that person a pew ahead who is heavy-laden in trials, even when your own storm is raging.

This is the third night in a row of me trying to shut down my brain to get some much needed sleep. And, of course, my thoughts are rattling away, just like the keytrokes of an old antique typewriter.

My mind goes back to going up for prayer in the morning service, desperately needing God to ease the sinus pressure before my head threatened to literally explode off my shoulders and launch right into orbit. Sadly returning home in the same shape I came.

Determined not to miss yet another service, so I returned again tonight. With a heart to worship, I gave God the praise due to His Name.

A sweet saint of God was letting the tears flow as her son was seeking after God in the altar. I barely felt like standing, but stood praying along with others for His salvation.

After making my way back to my pew, church over at this point, a friend asked if I was feeling any better. I looked up in surprise and realized that indeed I did!

While I was not thinking and worrying about myself, God had slipped in showing that He always hears an unselfish prayer.

Prayer is most definitely a force to be reckoned with. Showing our love for one another in fervent prayer does in fact avail much in the eyes of God.

Pray on my friend. Those prayers are not bouncing, but touching the very heart of God! And I am believing that God will continue to touch my body and give me a speedy recovery! 🙌🙏
